On June 26 through July 3 Marissa Lung of the Rushville-Industry FFA Chapter attend Washington Leadership Conference. During the 7 day trip Marissa and 87 Illinois FFA members were a part of the 340 students from across the country that had the opportunity to tour the U.S. Capital and other historical sites. During the conference members packaged 60,000 meals for the D.C. Area and developed Living to Serve plans to benefit their communities. They also learned how to "become effective leaders by learning their purpose, how to value people, how to take action and how to serve others." Now each member can follow the WLC theme of 2016. "To do what we can, with what we have, where we are."
