On March 19th, 19 RIHS FFA members participated in the Livestock Judging competition hosted by Bushnell Prairie City. Out of the Rushville-Industry students, Lindsey McNeely placed 1st in pigs, Wes Fowler placed 1st in sheep, and Danielle Icenogle placed 1st in beef. Congratulations to all participants!

Every year, the Rushville-Industry FFA helps at the Annual Ag Day Breakfast held at the Phoenix from 6-8AM. This year, the event was hosted on March 18th. The FFA members helped serve breakfast and clean up. The agriculture students also participated in the essay contest. This year's essay topic was "How can we make agriculture more sustainable?" Wes Fowler was the winner of the contest and read his essay to the audience at the Ag Day Breakfast.
On March 15th at 7PM, the Rushville-Industry FFA Chapter hosted Donkey Basketball with Macomb FFA. The teams consisted of students and alumni. The event had a great turn out and resulted in RIHS wins in every game! There was lots of laughter and no serious injuries-The event was a success! The Agriculture Science class has worked to incubate chicks to further learn about animals. The students conducted a lab with the newly hatched chicks to check the quality of hocks, navels, anatomical defects, feathering, and mechanical pinch. |
