Two Rushville-Industry FFA members, Madison Love and Katie France, attended the State FFA Leadership Camp from July 26-29 in Monticello, IL. During camp, the students were immediately separated and mixed into groups with other FFA members from across the state. FFA members participated and competed with their group in a variety of activities throughout the week such as; ag olympics, a giant water balloon fight, capture the flag, and even water polo with a greased watermelon! The overall goal of this year's camp was to instill personalized leadership traits in FFA members and enhance team building skills

On June 26 through July 3 Marissa Lung of the Rushville-Industry FFA Chapter attend Washington Leadership Conference. During the 7 day trip Marissa and 87 Illinois FFA members were a part of the 340 students from across the country that had the opportunity to tour the U.S. Capital and other historical sites. During the conference members packaged 60,000 meals for the D.C. Area and developed Living to Serve plans to benefit their communities. They also learned how to "become effective leaders by learning their purpose, how to value people, how to take action and how to serve others." Now each member can follow the WLC theme of 2016. "To do what we can, with what we have, where we are." From June 14th-16th Rushville-Industry FFA attended the Illinois State FFA convention in Springfield Il. 10 RIHS students attended. 1 previous student, Keely Acheson, received her American Degree. 4 current students and FFA members received their State FFA degree; Brad Carey, Lindsey McNeely, Chloe France, Marissa Lung. This is the highest award an FFA member can receive in the state of Illinois. In addition, RIHS student-Madison Love played in the State FFA band. There were approximately 5,000 FFA members, advisors, and guests in attendance. The students were able to listen to keynote speakers, such as Mark Hood-a past FFA member who competed on the TV show The Voice.
