On Friday, April 8th, Danny Hanning brought in pigs and a lamb to demonstrate some of the practices done after birth. Mr. Hanning described the process of ear tagging, ear notching, tail docking, clipping needle teeth, castrating, hog rings, and administering vaccines. In addition to bringing livestock, he brought all of the necessary equipment to show to the students. The students discussed with Mr. Hanning, the reasons for doing these things to animals along with the pros and cons of certain practices.
